 need advice on an adoption issue. An unfitted mother gave me her child, from mexico. how can i bring him here? The situation is the following and I would appreciate any good support. An unfitted mother recently gave me her child with papers and everything stating it. What would be my step in order to get him a visa, since I did not use an adoption agency but the child simply given to me.

| go to your local DHS , or equivalant in your state. Department of human services like where you get foodstamps. its not called the same in every state. they will know what to do and send you on the right track .

| You must contact an adoption attorney in Mexico in order for them to file the papers necessary to adopt him. It may or may not work, but legally, it is the only way. Look here for some listed adoption and family law attorneys in Mexico: http://www.helplinelaw.com/lawyers/mexico/mexico%20city

| You need to contact a lawyer right away, and even then it may be impossible to obtain a Visa for this child. At the very least, it is going to be a very difficult process. Unless you followed the law in both the US and Mexico, then the child is not your adopted child. Since you do not have an orphan Visa, I am assuming you did not go through this process. Just having papers does not make the child yours (legally)-perhaps it would be adequate if you wanted to stay in Mexico with the child, but that is not the case for bringing him here. Again, consult a lawyer. I am not that familiar with the adoption process for Mexico, but you will most likely have to backtrack and complete that process-homestudy, etc.-if that is even a legal option in Mexico (to have a non-relative child adopted privately rather than through an agency). | you will probley have to go though agency or u mite get in troble if the mother decides that she wants her baby back be carful with it all but guud luck and this baby is very luck to have someone that cares
