Dang that kid is going to be lucky! i have wanted to do karate sense i was 6 but my parents wont let me. I think maybe 6 or 7 is a good idea...

I would check with the local classes and find out their age limits. I have a nephew who is five and has done tae kundo since he was two. Go for it!!

It all depends if you want to pay the money and if he wants to do it.Also you can just put the age.Just say hes almost 2.

i have asked a couple of dudes who teach martial arts.both have suggested about 6 or 7. I have a 21/2 yo daughter.I know the world is crazy and want her to be able to protect herself. it also teaches them discipline among other things. and it's good excersize for em.but call or go by a dojo and ask questions. i was told that age being it's hard to keep their attention,but you never know another person could use a different teaching technique

Check with the studio you are interested in placing him in. There are several types of karate and you need to be comfortable with the one that you place him in. Look around, tour studios, talk to other parents. Then when you find one talk to the owner or teacher of the school. It took me five studios before I found one for my son--they didn't even take kids until they were at least 5 years old.

He is way too young. Maybe you should wait until hes 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 and up.

I take Tae Kwon do, and I know my instructor doesn't acept anyone until they are 4 but even that is a bit young for them to understand what they can do. I would suggest 5 may be 6
