working off the records. what can i do? he has supposedly stopped working because his wife has had a large health insurance lump sum payout. He is supposed to be out of work to look after her. She is often out and about and seems to be fine, he is working fairly regularly.I have always kept the csa out of things, even when times were hard. I think he is taking the P.!

If you want the support then you need to tell all to the CSA

It doesn't matter what is going on his life, he is responsible for the children he helped to bring into the world!Contact your county prosecutors office and ask them if they have child support collection services. Once you sign up through them the state will take care of the rest. Judges don't look too kindly on irresponsible fathers. He will have to pay everything he owes or go to jail. Most choose to pay!

Go through the CSA, but bear in mind that if he isn't working then they will probably not be able to get anything more than Â£5 per week out of him. If he is working then they will be able to get payments through him, but be aware that it could be less than you were getting from him before as they take a big cut. My boyfriend used to pay his ex Â£250 per month by cheque for his kids, she then went to the CSA because her friend told her that she would get more through the CSA. My boyfriend now only pays Â£200 per month and all of that doesn't go to her as the CSA take their cut. Either way, he definately needs to support his child, but make sure you find out the full facts first otherwise you could be worse off.

All the signs point to him evading his resposibilities! Contact the CSA and get them to investigate his situation.If he really is dodging his responsibilities then I've taken an instant dislike to the guy. I could never bring myself to do such a thing!
