| absolutely any signs of being sick, why? My 7 month old baby has been really hot to touch like with fever for a few days. But she has not shown one sign of being sick. She hasn't been throwing up or diarrhea. She's been eating great and playing okay. But she is sleeping a whole lot.Does anyone know what may be wrong? Is she probably still just sick with no symptoms but fever?

| Take her to the doctor. A fever counts as being sick, especially if it's not letting up. Better safe than sorry.

| It is very possible that she is just teething. My kids had fevers and sometimes a bit of a runny nose with teething

| There is a virus called Roseola that causes a high fever for about 3 to 5 days. Its then followed by a red rash on the torso. Just keep baby as cool as possible. Wet washcloths etc. Maybe its just this miserable heat this summer.

| Babies and young children get a lot of fevers in the first 5 years i think it is.There's been so many times when i have had mine at the doctor's for the same reason. All i got told was to keep them cool and don't let them get too hot and give them plenty of fluids. Within a few days they were always fine. My eldest still burns up now at least once every fortnight.Obviously if you are worried though take her to the docs to get checked over.Hope she's better soon.

| I would go to the doc with her, she is probably going to grow up to be one of those that ****s it up and doesn't let it stop her, and doesn't complain, when they don't feel well. Never the less, being run down and having a high temp are usually a sign that the body is fighting off some sort of infection. In this way, fever in itself is a sign of being sick.Given that it is July, you might also consider heat exhaustion, and/or dehydration fixes. Make sure she is getting enough to drink, and try giving her a cool bath. Lots of people who are perfectly functional and feel fine are actually quite dehydrated. How's the diapers looking? If she is constipated or not wet as often as usual, then you need to up the fluids which will also cool her down.Whatever the cause, that temp needs to come down, being too hot for too long can lead to brain damage in a child.

| It is something you need to see a doc. for because a fever means there is something wrong that the body is trying to fight. If a young child like yours runs a fever for long it can cause brain damage... so do not just look over it like it is nothing.
