MUSO's mugicha is made from 100% domestically produced barley which is roasted twice with infrared rays. Barley contains twice as much dietary fiber as wheat flour and four times as much dietary fiber as rice. In terms of iron, barley contains four times as much as brown rice. Mugicha does not contain the bitter substance of catechin or caffeine as in coffee or black tea; therefore, its roasting flavor can be enjoyed from children to elderly alike.Although no U.S. regulations specifically address herbal teas, most of the herbs the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers safe for food use are presumed safe for teas as well. For example, teas made from ginger, lime blossom, peppermint, roasted barley, rose hips, and thyme are probably safe to drink occasionally in small amounts while you're pregnant or nursing. However, drinking excessive amounts of any teas can cause health problems for you and your developing baby.

You should never completely replace water with tea, coffee or cold drinks... You still need water every day, even if you're not pregnant, to be healthy.I am not sure how safe mugicha is during pregnancy. Some herbal teas and remedies can harm the baby, so I suggest you ask a herbalist before you drink it.
