im a little confused on when to count for ovulation?

I started spotting brownish discharge on 7/9 and period arrived on 7/14. My husband and I are ttc when do I start counting? This is the first time I ever spotted and I'm a little confused?

Try taking your temperature the same time every morning. When it rises slightly this is usually the time. You have about a 3 day window.
Ovulation can change each month.

It's usually 14 days after the first day of your cycle, if you have a 28 day cycle, so you should be ovulating around th 28th.
