How much money a month do u spend on your children for clothes and toys??Just wondering to see if i spend 2 much or not??mummy to 2 hyear old and boy/girl twins 7 months xx

Depends: if I have a month with low bills....1-2 video games for the pre-teen....teenager : magazines, clothes, movies, hang out money "for fast food"....I would say 120.00 weekly give or take a little

i think it depends on one month to the next. i have two children daughter 8 and a son 5, when my daughter was born everytime i went out i would buy her an new out fit and toys when our son was born i pretty much did the same but i found by crimbo time santa had nothing really left to buy as they had everything they wanted so we have now decided that they get treats if they are good at school or home as we treat them on a weeken weather its to macdonalds or a pub lunch or even a little toy. but for the much bigger toys they want now we just say well write it down for santa or birthday depending on wot one come 1st. i feel horrible doing it this way though but now they are learning they cant have everthing they want when they want it, i have even opened up a bank account for them so they can save or put in birthday/ crimbo money in the bank so they can see there money grow or not grow (if they dont put it in). but most of the time they put it in the bank and 6 months down the line they ask mummy or daddy if they can have sumthing and we say oh u will have to write it down for santa or birthday and they say we have money in bank so we go to the bank and they have to draw there own money out so they can see how money grow etc and tell you what guys my kids are better for too. but not only this depends on wot out going you have too.

I don't know the exact amount I would say I spend on a monthly basis, it definately varies!First I have 4 kids and we only buy toys for special occasions IE: birthdays, holidays, good report cards from school. Our oldest child (14) has a babysitting job for the summer and we expect her to save some of the money she earns and then she can spend the rest on whatever she wants to buy (she is saving the rest to buy an ipod. In the past she has saved to buy a portable DVD player and a prepaid cell phone and minute cards). We let our kids do special chores around the house to earn money towards toys they want and we usually split the cost when they go to buy it. So ultimately we are still paying the full price for the item but they are learning the responsibility of money.As for clothes I usually only buy clothes before school starts and at Christmas time. Each child gets $150 at the start of school and we bargin shop to get the most for our buck!
