As I understand it, the cervix closes almost completely after giving birth (the uterus contracts down dramatically after the baby is born). Still, this is a question for your doctor.

The cervix starts to close right after the birth of the placenta. Usually in a couple of days it's completely closed, but doctors still say wait up to 6 weeks before having sex or using tampons to reduce the risk of infection, increased bleeding or other complications.
