| Sometimes it helps if you play soft music in the room. Maybe a softer pillow or blanket. I hope this helps. Good luck!

| it's okay just let her lay down and she'll go to sleep eventually.I have 4 kids and they do that when they're young but soon she'll go to sleep.

| Let her alone she will fall back to sleep on her own ...she may cry a bit ...this is because she is getting used to sleeping in your arms. If you break it now you'll save yourself alot of trouble later.

| Hi !!!!!! Ok, a friend gave me the book "Becoming Babywise" by Gary Ezzo, before I had my first child, and this is where I got this idea from. IT WORKS!!!!! IT WORKS!! THANK GOD THAT SOMETHING REALLY DOES WORK..ok. it has to do with scheduling. You are in charge, NOT the baby. You will be giving the baby opportunity for optimal growth and health by putting baby on a schedule.Every 2-1/2 to 3 hours, from the time you wake up, baby should be eating. If baby is sleeping, wake her/him up!!!!! dojnt be a "clock-watcher", but make sure you schedule feeding around the general 2-1/2 to 3 hour time frame.Feed baby, and KEEP HER/HIM awake for at least 15 minutes, this regulates metabolism. DONT LET BABY FALL ASLEEP WHILE EATING> he/she will be "snacking", not eating a meal, which is what baby needs in order to thrive on a schedule . I know its hard to keep a drowsy baby awake...but you have to in order for this to be established and work. A cool cloth acros the forehead, undress and re-dress baby, change diaper...whatever it takes. Now at nighttime, let baby wake on her/his own. Dont worry about schedule at night., just make sure baby is getting FULL MEAL.Follow this system faithfully, and it will pay off for you SOON!!!My son slapt thru the NIGHT by 7 weeks, and my daughter did at 5 weeks ( i started this after 1st week of birth, but anyone can put their newborn on a schedule at anytime, and the baby will adapt and thrive, and MOMMY WILL SLEEP TOO!!!!!!!Just remember, you are in charge...and have to be..So try this and I guarantee it will work within a few weeks..Good Luck and Blessings to your sweet, little one!!!

| I see alot of advice about letting your baby cry it out. But Please! Please! do not let your baby cry too long. Not at this age. This is a good strategy for older babies and children, but at this stage it's a Trust vs. MisTrust issue. Babies are learning that they can trust their primary care giver at this stage, and that their needs will be met. If they cry for more than 4 or 5 min and they are not attended to they realize that their needs are not going to be met. You cannot spoil a baby at this age, thy don't cry for no reason. They want to feell loved, safe and secure. Sometimes they're uncomfortable, sometimes the just want to be held. If your baby uses a soother, try putting it in the babies mouth before putting her down. If you don't want to get her hooked on the soother, try rubbing her back or hair softly and lulling her back to sleep. As the mother of a thirteen week old baby, I went through and continue to go through the same thing on occassion, and what I found was that my daughter was not in a deep enough sleep before I put her down and that's why she re awoke when I put her down. Look for little or no eye movement beneathe her lids, soft consistent breathing, limp arms and legs, then you know she's in a deep sleep.
