Has anyone ever heard of successful potty training around the age of one?

My 8 month old daughter has very sensitive skin and her nappy brings her out in a nasty rash at the base of her back. The GP gave her loads of creams and oil for the bath, I've tried changing nappies nothing keeps it away for long.I just wondered when can I realistically expect her to start potty training, my parents said I was the same and I was out of nappies just over the year but that was 30 years ago and I've never heard of anyone else in this day and age.Has anyone heard of it so young?

No I aint heard of it, mainly its arond two as they can understand what you want them to do and most at that age can tell you they need a toilet. Try it see how it goes, have you tried cloth nappies??

it can happen.they do say its best to start at 2 and when your child can tell you when they want to go.keeping the nappy off for as long as poss is the best for nappy rash.see what happens when you see her start going and put her on the potty.she might get used to it.

I know that many will tell you that a child is not ready for potty training until age 2 (I think they might work for the diaper companies!LOL!). I don't necessarily think that's the case. In my experience (I have 6 kids) all my kids potty trained around 16-18 months. My earliest started training himself at 14 months. You can work with your child and try to get them ready, but don't push them. Are you using disposable or cloth diapers? Could she be allergic to whatever you are using?

my daughter was toilet trained by the age of 1 we bought a seat that fits into ur toilet and kept sitting her onto it especially after she had eaten, firstly sat her on it fully dressed until she became used to it, then when she was comfortable with that we removed her pants and kept doin the same until we lost the nappy, and now life is easy she says toilet and off we go

and cut out the potty so we didnt have to do the routine twice good luck
