I just had a baby 2 months ago & am trying to find some fun things to do with my (gulp!) 12-year old. Between chatting/hanging out with/talking with her friends & DVD's, I barely see her. Yeah, I know...these are THOSE years.

Anyway, when she does want my attention, I'm at a loss of what to do. I'd love to hang outdoors like we used to before the baby but I just don't want the baby out that much so early.

We do the shopping, movies, etc. but its all so cliche...

Any suggestions?

I had a baby 3 months ago and my 10 year old daughter was feeling left out. So, we decided on a few summer projects. She helped me set up the baby's nursery, then we redecorated her room.

what is she into? If she likes arts & crafts, take her to Hobby Lobby and let her pick out some stuff. Maybe ya'll could scrapbook together. Or there's also those stores where you can paint ceramics. I remember at that age I always enjoyed those type of things. You can even buy a pr. of cheap flip-flops and decorate them with jewels and stuff like that. I have great memories of my mom taking me to craft classes at a local store then we would go next door to mr.Gattis and order cinnamon sticks and watch people sing kareoke. Also, just remember that you dont always have to be 'doing' something. I used to love to help my mom grocery shop. As simple as it may seem, I just liked hanging out with her. Hope I was of some sort of help.
