| You've probably diminished your supply because you're giving him formula. What you need to start doing is pumping your breasts... a lot ... AND let the baby nurse on one breast until it's empty and then at the next feed let him nurse on the other breast. Just feed him on one breast per feeding and let him EMPTY it. You should also stay hyrdrated... drink lots of water and make sure to eat a healthy diet. For every bottle of formula you give him you need to pump your breasts. You need to increase your supply again. Ideally you should just be straight nursing from your breasts. But if you're momentarily not producing enough milk then you should work hard at nursing the baby and making sure he's getting enough to eat. Formula messes everything up though. If you just nurse your son on demand... then you should produce more then enough milk for him.

| I had the same problem with my son, he just wanted more and more milk. But at the hospital they got him use to the big nipple, so when i wanted to breast feed him, he would **** but cry for more. I guess he wanted that high velocity milk, so i pumped the milk out and gave it to him in the bottle, and he drank it with no problem.good luck!

| he's probably used to the formula and if you haven't been breast feeding from the begining, you won't have enough of a supply to feed him with only breast milk right away. it kinda works like a supply and demand. the more you breast feed the more milk you will produce. for now, I would offer him the breast first and then finsh him off with the bottle. after a while, he will get used to it and you will build up the supply for his little demand. if you have problems with it, call your doctor or the local hospital and get the number of a lactation expert. they have them in my area and they are SO much help. good luck to you

| You can try pumping your milk and put it in the bottles. Some babies do not take to the breast . My first son took to it right off..my second preferred breast milk in a bottle. You should speak to your pediatrician about it. Make sure you tell them your eating habits as well as the babies. Your diet has a lot to do with your milk and quite possibly you are eating something that is disagreeing with the baby.
