what egyptian symbol means control of life and death or just life and death?

 I think its the Ankh because it is an Egyptian symbol of life that holds connotations of immortality when depicted in the hands of the gods and pharaohs who were seen as having control over the journey of life en.wikipedia.org

| The anhk represents life, I believe the scythe represents death. but i'm not sure of one that does both. (Which is why you see the sarcophagi of the pharohs with both the anhk and the scythe crossed on the chest.But then, I could be completely off base....I've never really studied it thoroughly.
