| When one is losing his/her self to nothing but negativities, losing touch with reality , changing dramatically every day, and forgetting who they truly are. Does it mean they are undergoing change? Or does it simply mean they are forgetting who they are? "How does one stumble upon self-discovery?"

| Yes, giving in to negativity is in a sense losing yourself, succumbing to despair, illness, stress, addictions all the things that can destroy you. Choosing the positive is the way to survive to be happy, healthy, at peace. I was negative most of my life. It's something I grew up with and is a very very tough habit to break. It becomes so much a part of you that it's like breathing. You don't even notice the negative thoughts. You just know that you're unhappy most of the time, not even sure why. But you can turn it around. You can choose to be happy. Right now, at this moment you can change your life. It starts with a thought: "I deserve to be happy" then "I choose to be happy" & then you do whatever it takes. Say daily affirmations. Force yourself to say good things about yourself, about life, about the world. Even if you don't really believe them. Say it! Say "I love myself. I'm a good person. I am a miracle of nature..." Tell yourself that you're beautiful, smart, wonderful, successful. Everything you'd like to be. Thoughts are powerful. They become real. So if you tell yourself negative things, you make them true & life becomes as bad as you fear. If you tell yourself positive things & make it a habit, then they become your reality & life becomes as wonderful as you hope. It's the law of attraction. Quantum physics. Focus on what you want and you will get it. If you keep focusing on what you don't want and how bad everything is, then unfortunately you get more of that. I'm not saying it's easy! It's hard! I still struggle. I catch myself feeling down, discouraged, negative. I catch myself in a negative thought & stop myself & tell that negative voice to shut the f*&k up and I turn it around & say something positive. It's taken me a long time to realize that my happiness is within my control. I love myself. I appreciate my strengths. I accept my weaknesses. I like who I am. Find yourself by loving yourself. Love life. Appreciate the beauty that is there. Go after your dreams. Believe you can have whatever you want & you will. Don't let fear & doubt hold you back. Your only obstacle is you. Don't give up. It can be done. Open your heart & your mind. Love yourself. Believe. Anything is possible. Good luck... but remember you make your own luck...
