suicide? Why is suicide a big sin? Is it just Christians who think suicide is a big sin. I do NOT defend it, I'm only asking, if you believe in abortion, how can you be against suicide. At least you are just doing it to yourself.

In Japan suicide is respected and not critisized.

I guess Arabs have suicidal pilots too.

Do all Christian churches think suicide is a hugh sin? Or is it just Roman Catholics?

I figure, with murder/suicides including school shootings and family killings, it would be OK with me if the suicide part was done promptly, avoiding the murder part!!!

I know a few women who tried suicide, and one who succeeded. As an ex-RC I wonder if that might have sent her to hell. Why? Didn't God give us free will. Wasn't death, at THAT time, just a personal choise?

I heard of a test to see if you'll get altzeimers. If you went through the hell of your parents' altzeimers, might suicide by a kindness to your family?

Christ and Christian martyrs went bravely to their deaths "BY CHOICE?"!

First the difference between suicide and Christ and Christian martyrs is that they sacrificed their lives for God, in my opinion something that is very different than suicide. Suicide is taking your life because of pain or shame or guilt. I'm a christian (not catholic) and I don't know about suicide... does God really send you to hell because of it? That's up to God no doubt, but I think he's against it because he created this world, this life for us and suicide is such a selfish act... it takes a your life, which God gave to you, and it hurts so many people around you.
I think that each situation of what we see as "suicide" is different that God is the only one who really knows what's going on, what's inside your head, what you want, God my be one who serves justice, but we can't forget that he is also merciful... and he knows pain too... he let his son be tortured and killed.

Personally, I don't agree with abortion; I think it's a form of murder. Now, suicide is considered a sin because it is throwing away the most precious gift God gave us. God did give us free will. We can do whatever we want, but that doesn't mean that we don't have consequences. I can go out now and do something offensive to someone else, but there will be consequences; there always are. Christians went to their death because they did not want to bury what they believed in with all their hearts because man wanted to be evil and tear away what they held dear. As for the death of Christ, that was a form of sacrifice for us. The torment that he received would have been directed to us for our wicked behavior and sinfulness. Because of Christ's crucifixion, we don't have to pay the ultimate price for our sin. We are now sinners saved by grace. The grace of God.

you have to know. well God allow free will not to distroy oneself. The bible didnot talk specific about suicides but martyrs is being force upon them not by choice. it is only the roman catholics that said in hope no one will go that routine.
as for Christian who really believe in Jesus their sins have been forGiven. We choose not to sins is because we love our Lord Jesus,and God the Father and the Holy Spirit. It hurt our God when we sin because we have a relationship with our God. WE go to heaven Because God Know us as His son also. When an unbeliever go to God's house(heaven) God doesnt have a relationship with them He will say I dont know you. people can do all the good and go to God's house then God say I dont know you.
