| Do you ever wonder why some people don't get fired????? Even when they keep screwing up over and over OR just don't do their job at all??? Yet others seem to get fired for no obvious reason, and hard workers who give 110% don't get the money they deserve for the work they do!!!!!! It makes me wonder how some of these companies survive at all when they keep the people who **** up time and resources and don't reward the ones who make their company productive. Where did this mind set come from???? Additional Details 1 day ago I completely understand the whole buddy system, sarge... and what you said of course makes sense. But I'm still baffled by the total degrees of separation...so to speak. Person A does so poorly that it tarnishes the companies credit so bills don't get paid, services get shut of randomly (internet, phone) and companies we order from regularly place our orders on hold because they aren't paid, resulting in angry customers. .... There are some pretty bad situations for a competitive business. But Person A still keeps their title, position, money etc. Person B, does 5x the work of person A. Is productive, help the business to progress and run smoothly (in all other areas) and no matter how many times person B proves them self and requests a raise, it is denied. Their work is never questioned! They aren't told they aren't doing a good job, in fact just the opposite. Just that it can't be done right now. (Person A has a small part in this decision). It's astonishing. sarge927 Those who screw up over and over again or don't do their job at all usually have some type of ace in the hole (either they know something that could be potentially damaging to the company if word got out or they're buddy-buddy with someone in management or related to someone high up or they can play the race/gender card), so those people are considered "out of bounds." Management is afraid to take any action against those people for fear of the repercussions of their actions. They don't want to get fired by the loser's buddy or relative, they don't want their dirty laundry being aired for all to see, or they don't want a discrimination suit. It's still a system where who or what (dirt) you know matters more than working hard and doing a good job. Sad, but true. Bonduesa: because the other people always carry the slacker at work. The good workers, alway take care of the slacker's work ,by doing it for them They need to stop and let the slackers do their job for a change
