What's so mystifying, the guy was screwed in the head, most likely from the cocktail of steroids and pain killers he was living on, and he killed himself and his family. Very sad story, but not that mystifying.

Why is everyone so surprised by this? It is pretty much common knowledge that pro-wrestlers have to use steroids and who knows what other substances to get as big as they do. The side effects of those drugs is nastly and includes aggression (roid-rage) and depression. That is probably what happened in the Benoit situation. It is a very sad story but shoudnt be startling.

mystified doesn't quite get it for me. stunned doesn't either...just don't know how to describe it.we all knew vince wasn't dead...but how strange that the 3 hour memorial show turned out to be for someone else!?!?! Think about that a moment.

It seems like he was supposed to fight for the ECW title at Vengence, but left (after murdering his wife and kid) due to a "family emergency". The purpose of returning back to Atlanta was to kill himself due to the guilt he felt after the murders. Anyone can see that this is basically the most "matter of factly" scenario that occurred, and you do not need a college degree or medical certification to piece together what happened. Just common sense after reading reports from the police that were released to the public.If it is true about what steroid use and it's aftereffects, then I'll definitely go with that "roid rage" aspect as told by medical experts that are investigating this case. Maybe it was also due to getting transferred from Smackdown to ECW. Very sad, but stuff happens, and it happens to the best of us..... RIP Chris and family. I thought it was classy for Vince Jr. to remove his own "death" script and focus on the sad news.....
