Why is there always a fish tank in dentist offices?

I know its a stupid question but why? Is it supposed to make you calm down?

Yes, I think the fish tank is supposed to relax you and take your mind off of sitting in the chair and hearing that terrible drilling sound!

Usually it's relaxing to sit back and watch fish swimming around an aquarium. I'd guess that's probably the reasoning, since most people are usually nervous going to the dentist

Or, the dentist may just be a fish hobbyist....
