| what's the best way to deal with feeling traumatised after a nasty event? i have PTSD and something happened to me two days ago which traumatised me and set my PTSD of again, it was the saem as what actually gave me PTSD in the first place, but now it's happened again, and i feel sick, i feel disgusting i feel so anxious i feel traumatised basically, what should i do?

| You need to talk to your GP and they'll probably refer you to a specialist! I had to talk to a Trauma specialist a couple years back and they are just amazing... so much so that I went inot it for a little while myself

| Go see your psychiatrist or therapist. You may need tranquillizers like me. I was robbed at gun point and locked in a freezer when I was 17 and I'm still dealing with PTSD with confined places and other random things that seem to set it off. So I just pop a tranquilizer and it's all much better!

| Too little info to do much with. but as in any ptsd/trauma....the first thing you need to do is "process" it...talk it thru...."normalize" your feeling as is done in trauma debriefing, etc....then uncover what lies you believe about yourself and replace them with truth....therapy, EMDR...not knowing what your history of trauma or therapy, meds, etc is. Propranolol has shown some good results if given within probably 24 hours or traums, and possibly longer....and maybe if given during a flashback,panic attack/pictures, etc. I'm doing a brief trial with not good results yet...but mine are old traumas over many years

| I take diazepam but it's not perhaps the best med to take for PTSD. I have PTSD as well with constant nightmares and flashbacks. Please e-mail me if you find a good specific med to take for this!
