Sign of depression?

During the day I get very sad and fight back urges to cry. I lack the motivation I use to have and find myself not caring about alot of things I use to care about. How long should I wait before seeing a professional? Who would I make an appointment with?

u gonna wait till u close up in a dark spot and think of taking your own life,,,better go now,u sound depressed..best of luck

You shouldn't hesitate to see someone now. You can talk to a psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, or even your physician if you're not sure where to start. They may be able to refer you to a psychologist.
