When this happened to me I washed out my mouth with Listerine then pushed the cap back on.. I called my dentist next day and he had me come in so he could re-glue it The dentist seemed to think it was no big deal.

This happened to me before.First, plan to get to the dentist ASAP. In the meantime, you want to get the cap back on to prevent bacteria and air from getting into your sealed spot.Get some denture adhesive--Polygrip, etc--and stick your cap back on. With a denture adhesive, the doc will have no problem removing it when he needs to.Don't do a lot of chewing until you get it fixed by the dentist. Good luck.
