| i have been made a mouth guard/splint as my dentist thinks i clench my teeth during the night ( i have been having pain for 2 years in my teeth) but i have used the mouth guard for 2 nights and my jaws are in AGONY, they ache all during the day. is this just my jaws getting used to the splint or what?

| Yes !! The same thing when a person has just stated wearing braces. At first, it's uncomfortable, but it should ease as time goes on. Your habit of clenching your teeth @ night is still happening while you're wearing the guard. If, it persists over a long period of time, contact your dentist. You might want to take some Tylenol before you go to bed.
