...on the skin or help with acne?? I have EXCESSIVELY oily skin. It's so bad, that a mere 20 minutes after washing my face its got a layer of oil over it. I do everything right for oily skin - use non-harsh cleaners to avoid sending the oil into "overdrive", use saliylic (sp?) acid before going to bed, only wash my face twice a day, use oil-absorbing sheets instead of powder to "freshen up", drink lots of water, and use mineral foundation.
Sure, my sleeping and eating habits could improve, but they're not bad.
Along with my oily skin, is moderate facial and body acne - (the oil is everywhere!) And I know that's the cause for most of my acne problems.

Anyway, I want to know if there any vitamins or mineral supplements that can be used to decrease oil production. I've heard of B5 pantothenic acid - but there's NO way I'm taking those mega doses. Would taking the regular dose help me out?
I don't want to go on accutane b/c of the risk factors. I am sick of worrying about my skin. Plus, my makeup rubs off everywhere!

don't know about pills, but there is a beauty line that makes an anti-shine regulating lotion that fixes your ph balance so that you produce less oil on your face. It's a french line offered in the US @ CVS or Brooks called Avene. They have little counters. try it, it has worked for me.
