eye doctor exam?

ok i'm going with my mom for an eye exam. i routine one. but i'm not going to get one cause i am petrified of needles, my mom is going to. i'll watch waht he/she does first and then see if i want to do it...it's tonight, before i go i would want to know waht i should expect, waht is he/she going o do exactly??? thank u!

If it is a routine eye exam the doctor shouldn't use any needles.I have had eye exams for 15 years (starting when I was 10) and all I have ever had to do is look at lots of different charts and objects while wearing the very ugly glasses that they give you.And the doctor also looked into my eye with a torch which is a little uncomfortable because he asks you not to blink.Nothing to worry about.

when you get an eye exam, there are never any needles involved, the exam is painless..you'll look through lenses, read different size letters and numbers from a chart, be tested for glaucoma (its just a puff of air blown on your eye) and that's pretty much it

Needles? They do not use needles at a routine eye exam. It's pretty basic, the only thing that bothers me a lil bit, is when they blow air in your eye, but it does not hurt at all. Don't be afraid.
