June 22 2007 -- Travellers who visited South Africa through all its ports of entry between March 2007 and March 2006 increased to two-million, according to Statistics SA data released last week

The SA regime refers to these statistics as 'tourism'. However -- a total of 652,647 foreign travellers with one-month tourist-visas departed from SA again within the required visa-dates to off-continent countries:

i.e. those 652,647 departed travallers were the genuine 'tourists" -- while more than two-thirds (1,347,353) of these 'foreign visitors with tourist visas' stamped in their passports were Africans from the rest of the continent who overstayed their visas and never left again.

The majority of those "visiting" our shores are little more than shoppers from despotic African regimes where even basic necessities are a scarcity or want to be illegal immigrants.
One wonders where these thugs will visit once South Africa has joined their countries in becoming yet another failed African state.
As you correctly also once noted, a great deal of expats who are increasing in numbers due to the oppression suffered in South Africa by whites also dramatically increase these numbers although they should in reality be excluded from such calculations.
