Is there an online guide to building a SB-Chevy motor or do I have to buy a book?

Basically it is so I can do most of it my self as I don't have enough money to pay a mechanic to do it all. In addition it is a learning experience for me. I don't have a friend who is a mechanic that could guide me along but I do have access to a pretty good machine shop at my college. The application is for a Jeep Wrangler that is going to see a fair amount of trail and highway use.

Go to your local library and check out the Chilton's manual.

you will definitly need a manual for rebuilding the engine for specifications for different torque specifications on different parts of the engine.
