Does Greek & Macedonia speak the same language?

Do they also write the same too? My friend is Macedonian, and im curious. Butt i asked her a she didn't know. I know that when she was writing in Macedonian, I was able to read it, Because it was same writings in Russian&Kazakhstan.I thought it was pretty sweet.
