1/2 pound per person. for 85% chuck, $2.99 per pound is cheap.

2.29 per lb, 1/4 lb per person but get 10 lbs just in case. get potato rolls for the sloppy joes and I'll bring the beer!

Hamburger can cost anywhere from $1.49 a pound up. I would suggest no more than 20% fat, no less that 15% for best flavor. Drain the fat you do get. Figure a quarter pound per person. (9 pounds?)

I pay 2.79 a lb. for ground chuck. I would say a lb. could make 6 sloppy joe's on average.

depends on the percentage of fat. 20 pct. fat should be running about 1.99 per pound in sams, walmart and etc. today. other stores, non discount (and why go there unless you live in the black forest) is whatever they say it is.

depends on where you shop! i know at walmart the meat would be cheaper, like 1.99-3.99/lb....but if you want to feed 35 people, i suggest going to sams club, or cost-co...one of those places where you can buy food in bulk.

Ground chuck at anything less than 1.89 a pound.2 pounds will feed a hungry family of 5.

wow!!!!! umm you like thick sloppy joe's or slim? umm i would buy it from food4 less. they sell like these big packs of ground beef but if you want big or small packs they have all different sizes so i hope this helps you.

Well if you're feeding 35 people, I'd recommend going to a costco or sam's club to buy your hamburger. Fat content will vary from 3-30% fat and prices will vary appropriately. Anything under $2 / pound is a pretty solid price out here in California. Normal 80% lean ground beef is usually $2.29 - $2.69 a pound on sale at the grocery store. Regular price is upwards of $3.49-$3.99 / pound now. geezLeaner will be more, fattier will be less. In regards to portion size, I would guess 1/3rd pound of hamburger per sloppy joe. Figure 50 sloppy joes for 35 people and you're at roughly 17 pounds. I'd buy 20 pounds just in case. Leftovers reheat well.

buy the 85% or the ground chuck,that way when you cook it,it won't cook down to much and lose alot of it in fat,The best price we have is 2.50 a pound sometimes cheaper when it is on sale,also they figure half pound of meat per person
