Is it true about bongs?

I heard when you smoke through a home made bong like a plastic bottle, the heat from the smoke causes the plastic particles to melt and combine with the smoke causing you to inhale the toxins from the bottle as well. Dosn't the water in the bong cool down the smoke. I'm confused.

There MIGHT be a little melting from were the stem goes into the bottle, but only if your smoking pretty fast, and not letting it cool down a sec...which we all know, once you get the bong going, you can sit there 5 minutes just blabbering before you even pass it, so I wouldn't worry too much...the smoke alone is not near hot enough to even soften the plastic...much less melt it and expose you to ''particles''.If you're still worried, try cramming some ice into the chamber, with the water...it cools the smoke down even more, and makes for a smoother hit too.

i been smoking bongs a long time 17 years in fact doctor says dont give it up you are as healthy as a horse true story and yes the water does cool it down try not to use a plastic hose get a proper stem
