| that have good vegetarian dishes? I usually eat at home, but when we do go out I hate always ordering a salad or grilled cheese when I do go out. Mind you, I'm looking for things that don't include animal based broth or aninal fats either. Eggs and dairy dishes are ok.

| I checked out happycow.net because I was traveling with my vegan girlfriend to NYC. We ate at a couple restaurants that we found on the site plus paid a visit to the vegan bakery that was listed as well. Most listings include links that take you directly to the restaurant's web site so that you can check out their menu. Hope this helps!

| Besides happycow (that mainly concentrates on non-chain options) you might like this link:http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.ne...FoodRest.htmas always keep in mind that individual restaurants don't always follow corporate recipes! An example would be Taco Bell where some of the stores still add meat drippings to the beans. It's also commonplace for a pan that just cooked meat to be used to cook your 'veggie' food without being cleaned. http://www.happycow.net/

| Well, for starters, the following restraunts almost always have a yummy veggie burger on the menu. T.G.I FridaysRed RobinApplebeesRuby TuesdaysCHillis (it's a black bean burger)Dennys (Boca burger, I believe)Burger King (many locations have a "Veggie whopper." I think it's actually a "gardenburger")Most of them will substitute a veggie patty on ANY burger on their menu that sounds yummy to you. So if the "BBQ Ranch Burger sounds yummy just tell them, I'll take the veggie patty on that, and no bacon.)Just learn to be a little inconvenient! If you see a dish that looks good but has some meat, just ask the waiter. "Can you make that without the meat?" You'll be surprised how accomidating they are! Those nachos sound good? Just tell them to leave the beef off!! For example.. If I'm at Chili's and I see "Steak and Portabella Mushroom Fajitas" on the menu, I automatically think "They can just as easily put in double the mushroom and no steak." and I ask them to do it! They've never even looked at me weird, let alone said no. BTW those fajitas are YUM!! Hope that helps!!
