| I've eliminated beef and pork from my diet since jan 1...use soy milk--wondering what would i end up eating if i eliminate poultry and fish from my diet....the way i look at is if i do eliminate it I'll be eating beans and rice everyday...someone help me out with some suggestions.

| I suggest the book How It All Vegan, it has some amazing recipes that will taste just like the original if not better!!! The author also has two other books out and I believe you can view some of her recipes at amazon

| Try tofu. (Don't go ughhhhh!). They make it in different textures (extra firm, firm, soft). You can dice up and saute and flavor with spices and sauces and add them to things (soups, salads) and the soft one you can add to shakes in a blender with fruit, flavored soy milk, and can also add different flavored coffee creamers for variety. Not bad. I got used to it.

| You could go to happycow.net and look for veg*n restaurants in your area and the surrounding are, try some out and get a good idea. You could also go to your local bookstore and browse the cookbooks in the veg*n section.Also, vegweb.com is an excellent resource for recipes and food ideas.I don't do meat substitutes, but my boyfriend does, who was once an avid meat eater but made the switch witnessing the benefits I've gained. If you feel they are necessary, I guess they taste exactly the same. He's been eating the Boca Vegan original patties.Whole Foods Market (at least the one in Ann Arbor, MI, but I'm assuming they're all pretty much the same) has a gigantic bulk section where you can stock up on tons of grains and flours and treats and more.
