Murder Mystery Birthday Party theme? I need ideas!?

My birthday is a few months away, but I am brainstorming for some ideas. I'd like to do a Murder Mystery theme. I know Target has a "party in a box" Murder Mystery/Wine kit, but I also don't want it to be too cheesy. I really need some ideas! On top of that, my husband's birthday is two weeks after mine. Normally, we just celebrate them on the same day because of how far our families are. We hate to have them travel twice. However, this year, I really want to honor him seperately. I think he deserves his own day. He will be turning 34. Any ideas on what I can do fro him? He is a huge hockey fan - maybe a hockey themed dinner?
