If you are applying for a job as a bartender or waitstaff do they ever check to see

if u stole something? from a mall or retail store by checking the database that u go into when they take your picture etc after they talk to u at the store and put u into that database thing?Be specific and do u have proof that they do this? I added this after the first answer

I don't think there is any type of data base unless you stole form a former employer and gave them the former employer's name and number they would not know.

Not most restaurants. Personality is all it takes to get you a job in the restaurant business.

Yes, I manage one of the casino's in Tunica. U will get a very extensive background check if u want especially a bartender or waitstaff position. That's just the way it is, I don't think it's right everyone deserves a second chance.

based on my management retail experience, we keep records of those who stole something or do bad things for the company like lot of absents, always late, having a late break, etc.. a company has a right to check for police records, but it doesnt mean that if you have one you wont be hired. taking picture is different matter. most companies dont take picture of their employee unless they get hired.
