...ADDED DETAILS? Most of my friends know that I'm vegetarian but some don't, because since it's break I haven't had time to let people know. So this happened twice, when I went somewhere with my friends and they already cooked/ordered food before I got there and it was meat. Normally I would tell them, but I didn't want to be rude to their parents and make them make something else. So do you think it's okay to eat it occasionally.

The past is over and done, you should just know what to do the next time...admit that you're a vegetarian from the start! Whatever your reason is, people should respect that, but it would go bothways, that you should also respect them if they don't invite you to their houses

Do whatever you want... leave the filet for me. But, if you call yourself a vegetarian, then you don't eat meat... no matter what the "social" situation is. Definition: a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

If you eat meat (even occasionally), you are an omnivore.

i am a vegetarian, and i flat out say that i cannot eat meat..but i say it in a way that so far hasnt hurt anyones feelings. but listen, it is your decision to make right. its your body and what anyone's opinion is shouldn't matter. do what you feel comfortable with and congratulations on a *nearly* meat free diet *s.

Obviously, if you eat it at your friends', you WANT to eat it, so I don't think you should be calling yourself a vegetarian quite yet. It is not rude to follow what you believe, it would be rude of them to not respect YOUR beliefs.
