| well i was reading that distilled is a lot better for you because tap water has all those chemicals and distilled water has all of the impurities taken out of it.. honestly, i think that spending a about a dollar per bottle is a bit much, considering we need about 8 glasses per day.. so would boiling tap water be any better? should i really go for the distilled or could i just boil tap water? how much of a difference can there be? I mean, i understand the whole impurities thing..but health-wise.. is distilled really THAT much better, because if it IS, then i might as well go for bottled water, but if it isnt, i'm sticking with good old boiled tap water. much appreciated! TY.

| Distilling water means you boil the water, collect the steam and then the collected steam becomes water again and goes through a filter. That's about as pure as it gets, there are some impurities you still cannot filter out of water just by running the raw water through it. The only draw back is that the water really tastes flat, there is no taste at all.

| Distilled water? I use that in my iron because it will not leave a residue. For drinking and cooking a few minerals like calcium for teeth and bones won't hurt that much. Boiling tap water is what you do if it has bacteria in it like Montezuma's Revenge or if you want dehydrated water to take with you somewhere so it won't weigh so much (1 Lb. per cup) but you would have to rehydrate it to use it. I personally prefer bottled water that I can get for 20 cents a gallon.
