I have had this best friend for the last 15 years. I live in L.A. & she moved to AZ prob close to 3yrs ago. I don't see her that often unless she visits here w/her family, or prob once a yr when I go over there. She gets into odd moods sometimes Let me tell you about her latest "mood". She flew in this wknd & she didn't let me know. I only knew cuz my twin sis, who is also friends with her told me. I was like wtf? Why didn't she tell me? So this morning my sister called me & invited me to breakfast with them. I didn't go. My son was still sleeping & I wasn't about to rush him. If she wanted me there she could have called yesterday or earlier in the morning. So tonight my sister told me she told our friend she had invited me to breakfast, then my friend says "Oh, I didn't tell her I was here". I was truly insulted. But I think I know why she did that. I know, I know,,horrible qualities for a bf right? Well she wasn't always like this. My friend is SEVERLY over weight, I'm talking 300lbs, and again, she wasn't always like this. She's depressed and so she moved to AZ thinking oh she would have this new life no family probs etc..etc..YEAH RIGHT. Well I'm divorced, I have a boyfriend and I spend alot of time with him and I can tell she hates that. Even when I went last month to visit her she made a comment about when I come back, next time "it's just the girls". Indirectly saying to not bring my boyfriend, that's how I interpreted it. Come on...we're 31 years old! She has also made comments that why should she move back to cali, when everyone has their lives and their so busy etc...Hell, it's not my fault she is choosing to eat her feelings and be miserable. She is negative toward everyone when she sees them getting ahead. And even about my friends that I have she'll always make it a point that she's known me longer etc.
ANyway....back to my question...How would YOU handle this? She obviously didn't call me on purpose for breakfast, or to let me know she was in town. I have done nothing wrong to her. I'm not even hurt, but I'm insulted, ANYONE can see that she did this on purpose. How would YOU handle it? I told my sister, I'm not talking to her anymore...and once this comes to a head I'm going to talk to her about her depression and her weight and about all the other negative things she does and says. I mean she's even jealous of my boyfriend..COME ON! What would you do?
