The best way is honesty. Don't make up some lame excuse or blow her off. No matter how things hurt in the beginning, it's better to be up front from the start, tell her your feelings, and then move on.

in a woman there will be no best and gentlest way of breaking up..even you do it in anicest way still it will be hard for a woman to accept it..the best way is to say it directly ..its not easy just dont prolong the agony

The exact same way you would like to be broken off with.Never say we can stay friends. Part of dating is spending time with a variety of people to see who you are most compatible with. Be a man and do it in person.
