 Social Activities that DON'T involve alcohol? I just moved back to Arizona and have over the years struggled with alcohol abuse. All of my old friends here still drink and it's in my best interest not to hang out with them since everyhting they do revolves around clubbing or partying. Does anyone have ideas on how I can meet new people who do things that don't involve alcohol? I know all about AA - but that's just not for me. I've learned a lot about AA over the last 20 years and it has never been effective for me. So if anyone has other suggestions I would be all ears...

| Watch movies, play music (a good guitar duet soothes the soul), take a road-trip, or just hang out and laugh with people.My advice on meeting non-alcholics is to search for clubs or groups that have a common interest, like a Horror Movie Club, or something. It doesn't have to be totally nerdy - could be Karate Club.
