my husbands christmas do, is on friday. each yr I drop him off (its 30 miles from our home, so he wont pay for a taxi) and I dutifully collect him. each yr, has been a complete nightmare.... him totally sozzled!! trying to drive with someone turning the stereo on full blast and jumping from front to back seat is not funny. he also fell down our stairs 3 times and cut his open last year. being sick, and horrible moods, and I am always dreading it. If he acted lovable and funny I would not mind, but he doesnt, and he does not go straight to bed, and complains if i even breathe! this is out of character and only happens at the christmas do. this yr i asked if he could make other arrangements, as i feel sick thinking about it. so he is staying in his mums the night... great for me, only he has said he will behave and hardly drink as he is at his mums the night. charming! why does he not do this when i collect him then?
should i take it, that he does not respect me?

The best thing for your husband is to call a tow truck to pull his car back home with in riding in it.
