My brother, a divorcee with custody of his two children, is a good guy, but not the best father. His young girl, about six or seven when they last visited, was a pill. She had severe behavioral problems and, in fact, the only way she could amuse herself was by being naughty or doing something she knew she was not supposed to.

I am not the only one who thinks this. The girls' school system required that she be taken to psychological counseling because of her behavioral problems.

When we went out to places such as a museum or the zoo, she would sometimes think it amusing to pinch me on my arms despite my telling her in no uncertain terms not to do this. She pinched me so hard in some cases that she actually left bruises. Her father's reaction? He did nothing.

Now I do not think it is my place to spank or discipline someone else's child. My question is, how should I handle a girl like this? Serious answers only please--they are coming in a couple of days!
