She's a very good girl. A bit immature, but one of her most beautiful qualities is honesty. She doesn't lie and tells me everything. Yesterday she acted without thinking, under peer pressure and ended up going to a mall without telling me. I'd probably never know but she realized this was wrong, told me and apologized, promised this wouldn't happen again. I loved her honesty, was proud, treated her with love, forgave completely, but, thought she needed a small lesson. So, I decided that, for 1 week, she'll spend 1 hour a day in the kitchen doing some chores. Got her a sweet frilly apron (she looked lovely in it) and, for 1 hour a day, instead of swimming or hanging out w/ friends, she'l be in the kitchen wearing her sweet apron lol (even if there isn't much to do there). She didn't like the idea, said it wasn't necessary, but I said Hun, love you, you're a great girl, but need a lesson. She's not resentful, it's a light punishment, but was I right in punishing her? It was out of loveDid I send her the message "Don't tell mom when you do something wrong"? I don't think so, because she's a god girl, the punishment is ligh and sh knows it's out of love.

she will be more apt to not telling you in the future but a little punishment is a good thing i suggest that you lighten the load a little like maybe just half an hour she will appreciate it.

She knows that she was wrong and sounds like she's ok with your decision. On the other hand I think that kids should be doing basic chores, just so their not pigs when they move out.

Well being around that age myself I do understand your actions but maybe for a week was a bit to much. You say she is a good girl amd I know if it was my mom I would be kinda upset thinking "well if i am a good girl then why are you punishing me?" she was just being a teenager. TThe punishment was fine but maybe giver her the last 2 days off of kitchen duty just to show her you do care and I know that dosent really show you care but when my parents punish me and take something and give it back tro me a day early I am not so scared to like talk to them when I know they will show some mercy,
