It could also mean that he is really really swamped at the moment and will get back to you. Don't always read anything between the lines when it comes to good friends. Trust in the strength of your friendship. This is what make him a good friend to you and also you to him. When time permits I am sure he will get in touch and when you do meet it will always be just like yesterday. That's the beauty of friendship.
