CSA - What can they actually do?

If my boyfriend has the CSA after him and we live together, are they entitled to know stuff about me? and can they take my earnings into consideration? Also if he refuses to pay - as his ex has taken the child and vanished - what will they do?

yes they can take your earnings into account if you live together. All they'll want to know is what the household income is and they will work wout how much of that they can take.If your bf refuses to pay then we can automatically take money from his wages before he gets them.

i think that they can do a back ground check on you to see if you would pose a threat to the children.As far as what you earn, I don't think they can touch what you earn.good luck

In California, they will only take the wife's income into consideration if the father refuses to pay....... as the girlfriend, you would be taken into consideration if he were to be getting alimony. Someone asked a question......... about why you'd be with someone who didn't pay his support. I am curious about that too. I gather that he has no contact with his kid.... that is very illegal of his ex to do and he can enforce his visitation no matter where she lives. He needs to make his support payments and go through legal channels to find his kid. That's what a real man would do.

if your boyfriend is on benifits he will only pay 5 pound a week, if he is working they will take so much of his wages. but they will not want to know anything about you, unless you have kids to him as well, if he is refusing to pay they will either stop his money or send him for dna tests to see if he is the father or not. no matter what if the csa has the information that he is the father he has got to pay for his kid,
