Answering the phone during intimacy: ok or wrong?

It just so happenned that I answered my phone during intimacy with my wife... It happenned accidentally, you know when you do something without thinking... So whats the big deal?! But she would not let it go and still upset... Its not like I was making an outgoing call... So what is your advice? Apologize or divorce?!

if it was a minor child calling...yes answer the phone...otherwise whatever it is can wait.

You must learn to put away your phone. You appear to be more dependent of the phone than of her. Wrong or not, you must understand that she may feel so. Exactly that is why such a behavior is very impolite.

Divorce huh, how quick we are to jump to that conclusion. If you are thinking divorce over a phone call you have a lot bigger issues.

APOLOGIZE!! i would be VERY upset if my hubby answered the phone during intimacy.. you should of just the phone ring.. they would have left a message or just called back later.. no phone call you could get in this lifetime should be more important than being intimite with the woman u married!! id be pissed and tell you that you gotta make it up to me.. u may want to cut the ringer off on the phones the next time, maybe she will cut you some slack... maybe i don't know

I can understand the impromtu move on your part to answer the phone, but it is rather rude when you are in the moment with your wife. I know that "I" would not be answering the phone at that moment - nothing else but our time together is important. Sometimes couples don't know when they are going to be "intimate" but you have to know and realize how important intimacy is. I am sure your wife felt that the phone was more important than she was. Another thing - depending upon how long it had been for the two of you - Sometimes when couples argue and then make up afterwards - if you answered the phone during a 'make up' time - you just put yourself back in the dog house. Buy her some flowers and have them sent to her job or to your home. You have to let know that you were sorry about the incident - AND that does not mean divorce! Come on now -

Apologize- You answered the phone as if you had been doing nothing. You acted as you were only doing the deed to pass time instead of passion, love or true intimacy, which is private time with you partner. You treated someone else ( who you didn't even know) as the priority.

Bud...in the days of answering machines and voice mail why would you even interrupt a lovemaking session over a phone call.I think you saying you did it 'without thinking' would piss off even the Pope. that means (in her mind) that your mind wasn't where it was supposed to be.I think divorce is pretty extreme unless the situation has been deteriorating over the years. I'd do more than apologize. i'd lay the groundwork with dinner or a nice lunch. Anything to make amends. In the future...think before you do that again.
