| I think they are just threatened by what these radio hosts are proclaiming. THE TRUTH!!!. They will do anything to get their way, even circumventing the constitution.

| They are trying. Sadly, they will probably succeed eventually.

| Isn't it ironic that the "defenders" of freedom of speech only defend it when liberals speak?

| No one is talking about banning talk radio. Just getting equal representation. On public airwaves that is not censorship. If conservative talk radio feels so threatened, they can follow Howard Stern's example and move to satellite.

| I think they will try and I think we should take to the streets if it occurs. Chavez just did the same thing in Venezuela and I would view that as a communist country.

| They'll try it, but the radio hosts can always be heard over the net, satellite radio, TV, books, etc., and their listeners won't let them down. The liberals are just mad because their own talk network was an abysmal failure due to the fact that for all their feel-good rhetoric and name-calling and shouting down their opponents, they can't dispute realistic logic or that old devil, the truth.

| Someone asked if republicans can ban the "liberal media" the answer would be no, because republicans acutually believe in the idea of Freedom of Speech and Press. Liberals want to ban talk radio because Airhead America blew in and out like a breeze, a very soft hardly heard or noticed one. So, being the children with power that they are, if they can't have their toy-no one can have a toy (i.e. talk radio). They'll try, but so long as Bush is around, it won't happen.Futhermore, the really really need to do something soon. Their approval rating is lower (by half) than the presidents.

| You cannot ban talk radio. It's called freedom of speech. The Democrats don't want stupid bigots like Rush off the air, because it violates the constitution. There was a time in radio and TV in which you were required by the FCC to have equal representation of an argument. Sadly, those days are gone and the conservatively owned media is dominating the airwaves. See ClearChannel.

| If they did they would be handing all their seats to the Republican Party for quite some time. People would be more than a little angry...to include many Democratic voters.Besides it would never stand in court in the end and there would be plenty of people on the right ready to bring it to the courts (no lack of funds to do so). Everytime this comes up...."right wing radio" gains listeners.

| Do you REALLY want to know the truth? The truth is that talk radio is dominated by right-wing nutcases like Comedian Rush Limbaugh, Bill Orally, and Sean Hannity. There are very few progressive voices out there to balance these guys. What we Democrats want is balance, not to ban talk radio altogether.
