Hello, having problem with Asperger's diagnosis . . .? The school system (teachers and administrators) keep insisting my son is on the spectrum. However, I have had three independent diagnosis that state he is not autistic but socially and expressive speech delayed. All three professionals agree that I am on the right track with treatment (social and speech therapy). Furthermore, they all seem to be in agreement that this will pass as most children level out between five and seven years old. This is great news to everyone but the teachers. Why are they so insistent on autism? Why are they so insistent that only public education can fix the problem as opposed to private therapy? I should my mention that my father is a Harvard grad. cardiologist, my grandfather was the lead pathologist on the Barringer heart study - I have been referred to the best.
