| ...on some curriculum.? I was wondering what other people that are homeschooling there children use for 7th grade curriculum for grammer, composition, vocabulary, spelling, and literature. I have seen the A Beka series and am considering that, but we are not really religious people and I was wondering if there was any other sets that were all together like the A Beka Series that people have found to be good, that include student and teacher manuals.

| I would consult the local school board(s) and find out if they're willing to aid you in that, with what they consider to be the essential (core) lessons required, as well as hints on testing, and how to record progress. I doubt attendance will be an issue, and field trips can be more fun looked upon as a family or mother/daughter outing. she'll learn without knowing it, and like it better.

| I will give you a link to a web site that gives you plenty of options regarding secular materials. http://www.angelfire.com/or/mtdewbydo/secularcurric.html This web site will give you the option of both. http://www.christianbook.com/html/specialty/1016.html We use Christian Liberty press for our basic foundation, however it is often based on the Scriptures. http://ebiz.netopia.com/clpress/ They have our vote for both solid academic content, as well as price. They do have it all put together for you like Abeka, or you can put it together yourself. The 7Th grade complete package starts at about $200.00 for everything. They will give you a choice in the math level, so you can adjust it to your daughters needs. If I could recommend two great programs for, spelling, vocabulary, reading, and sentence structure it would be Wordly Wise 3000, for the 7th grade it would be book 4, but if she is weak in these area's start with book 2, or 3. For writing, a complete course that covers it all would be Write Shop. (blue binders). http://www.writeshop.com/ We use these along side some of CPL's materials. Hope this helps a bit.
