| I'm from the Philippines, and a student. I'm planning on upgrading my PC. It's a really old one, Celeron 700Mhz. (Pentium I generation), with 512MB of Memory (2x 256 DDR), one 80 GB HDD (don't know if it's SATA or some other type), an AsRock MoBo (Don't know the model, either. And 2 Optical Drives. I was wondering what should be a good Processor/Mobo Combination for me? I was planning on buying a Pentium D proccie, (no idea what MotherBoard), but soon found out that Celeron D and Pentium D are electricity hounds. So I've decided to go with AMD Athlon x2 3+++, plus either an ASUS or MSI MoBo. Can anyone reccomend a good Combination? Is 3400 or 3600 good enough? What is BRISBANE? I have a budget of 8000 Pesos for the Proccie/MoBo. After that, I'll buy a good DVD-RW drive. Should i switch to DDR2? I'm scared that maybe my CRT Monitor or HP Printer won't be compatible with the new MoBo- any concerns there? Also what's a solid but affordable GFX card? Thanks a lot.
