Its a fair question. One of the pitfalls of democracy is the possibility that large blocs of the "poor" will realize that they outnumber the "rich" and decide to use the ballot box to claim assets that they have no right to.I'd say that the working poor--those who pay income taxes, even IF they are going to get them all back at tax time, should be allowed to vote.Those who simply take from the system, without generating a dime of their own income--maybe shouldn't be voters.Avoid this whole problem by abolishing income tax, and injstating a National "consumption" tax (sales tax). That way everybody has a voice, because everybody pays.
