I suffer from social anxiety and hate interacting with anyone outside of friends/family unless alcohol is involved. I've worked predominately in admin roles but definitely need something else. I've got a degree in Film Studies, although its pretty goddamn useless.

Your problem with social anxiety can be treated. Do not use it as an excuse, one day you will wake up and realise you have thrown your life away into the bottom of a bottle. You have a good degree and enough relevant experience to get a really good job. take some time out to get the problem treated. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy works very quickly (6-12) sessions and is extremely effective in this area. I highly recommend it. At least see your GP and talk to him/her about your options. You may have to pay privately for the CBT but it is money well spent if it means you get your life back. Good luck and God bless

Social Anxiety is recognised so seek help, my friend. You cannot go on like this. Very soon alcohol will take over and then where will you be?Go to your GP and ask if there is a counsellor available. I had to and I am forever grateful to them all.

Go and work where my husband used to work making fibre optic couplers for the internet under the sea and ground.He used to have to sit in a 10ftX6ft room all day on his own with no windows. Drove him potty so he left.

You actually need to seek help. I suffer from anxiety/panic attacks that come with no warning, but I have never used alcohol as a crutch.

computer technician. seriously these guys never say much. You call him with your problem. normally they'll say ill be down in min. They''ll turn up and just get on with it. It is all about him and the computer. Next thing you know he is leaving the room with the "All done". Now how cool is that.But you need help with your problem.

Social anxiety is awfully debilitating. the others are right about finding a way to get over it. The trouble is, that isn't really going to get you into a job right now, is it?Have you thought about doing night work? Security, night shifts at a gas station, store or factory? One thing you can guarantee is that there aren't many people about during the night! I don't know how that pays where you are but it might fill in some time till you find just the right thing.Then of course, there are the driving options. Truck drivers can be pretty reclusive when they want to bePersonally, I run a business from home (I don't have social anxiety, I just don't like people! Heehee!). I have a site about driving around Florida (which is great because you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't feel like it!).
